Talks from warehouse (9th-12th Grade)
Everyday, we hear about people, who seem to have everything and who know
all of the right people, ruining their lives on public television for all to see. Why is
it that people who seem to have it all cannot figure out how to hold it all together? More
importantly, what is going to stop us from making the same mistakes? In this, Phil's last
talk at warehouse:180, we'll look at what we can do right now to prepare us to become the
people that we want to be and that God wants us to be. Everybody is becoming something; most
people never decide what that is going to be. Will you...?

God ?s, Take II
It's time again to ask and answer some of the tough questions in life. Last time,
we talked about the age old question of why bad things happen to good people. This time, we're
talking about the most controversial thing we can think of: homesexuality. In light of certain
organizations coming to local high schools and spreading a message of intolerance and hate, we
want to look into the Bible, God's Word, and figure out just what He really does think about this
topic. We're not asking what other people say, what the church says, or even what popular opinion
claims. Instead, we will focus on what our loving God says about homosexuality and how we should
treat people who are gay.

One man's thoughts and reflections on the devastation in Haiti. What do we do with the images
that we see? How can we cope in the face of so much destruction and despair? Is there any hope at all for
that country? God is working in amazing ways in Haiti and it is a country finally being redeemd for Christ
after many, many years apart from God.

S...E...X
Three simple letters that make up one of the most used words in our world. Culture tells us
that it's no big deal, that sex is just something you do for fun...like playing basketball or going to a movie.
But the Bible tell us something different about that three-letter word. God's plan for sex is so much greater
than we give it credit for. What does it look like for us to let His plan for sex work in our lives, rather
than our own? Is it possible to stay "pure" and still lead a normal and enjoyable life? We believe that not only
is it possible, but that obeying God in this area of life will have amazing effects in everything else that you do.

It is so easy to go through life just going with the flow. So many people base their comments,
opinions, and even thoughts on what other people think and they don't hold firm to their core beliefs. But there
are a few figures in history and even in today's public eye that have chosen a different approach. They have
decided to take a stand for what they believe and they aren't ashamed if the world finds out. What about you?
Do you have the courage to "Stand Up" and proclaim who you are to the world?

Idols
Everyone has things in their life that they give more importance to than they should. What
are those things for you? Our culture is obsessed with idolizing movie stars, singers, and even people whose
only reason for being famous is that they are famous (I can't figure that one out either). These "idols",
whether people or objects, have the effect of drawing us away from God and focusing our attention on ultimately
unimportant things.

Science Guys
Many people reject Christianity because they believe it conflicts with scientific thinking.
Come hear from two real-life science people and see how science and Christianity can exist in harmony. God
does not ask us to leave our brains at the door in order to accept His son. In fact, studying science can
lead us to a better appreciation of the majesty and wonder of God.

God ?s
One of the most common issues people have with a Godly world view is this: why do bad things happen
to good people? In general, this is known as the problem of evil, and is probably the biggest intellectual reason
that people don't accept God as real. We will look further into this topic and learn why it is perfectly consistent
to have a fallen world and an all powerful and loving God in coexistence.

True Life
We all have our issues. Some people seek their worth and identity in the wrong
places. Others have gone through great tragedy and were forever changed. Some people just don't
see things the way you do. Life is complex and we are all living it in our own way. What would it
look like for us to hand our stuff over to Jesus and allow Him to help us through it? Only in Him
can we have 'True Life'.

Unless you are an orphan living as a hermit, you cannot escape having relationships in life. Whether it be
with our friends, our family, or even a significant other, we all interact with people as we go through our days. But what
should these relationships look like? The Bible gives some great advice on how we should interact with others, and what
our relationships should be about.

In Tune with God
Anybody that has been to an elementary or middle school orchestra concert can tell you that
instruments need to be in tune in order to sound good. If one of the violinists is even a little bit off with
her finger placement, the sound of the entire section becomes muddled and dissonant. Have you ever thought about
that same concept with regards to God? What does it look like to be "in tune with God"? How do we "play" our lives
so that the result is a beautiful harmony between us and our creator?

Media
Very few people even realize the effect that our modern media bombardment is having on
our views, our beliefs, and our actions. Think about it this way: if commercials didn't work and cause
people to buy products, companies would have long ago stopped pouring millions of dollars into them. Here's
where it gets dangerouse, though. Imagine a world where people don't even realize that they are being
manipulated by their culture. Imagine a time when you wake up and notice you are surrounded by things
and ideas that you never imagined being involved with. You can stop imagining. That time is here and
you need to be prepared.
